Finalizing the hierarchy

Introduction

Once all the compounds are in place, they need to be organized in a certain way to make the vehicle usable.

The order of compounds and their position in the hierarchy is very important for some people.

An error in folder organization can cause visual bugs on the in-game vehicle

Now that we have all our compounds ready, we need to organize our hierarchy one last time to make it compatible with the game.

For compounds to be visible now, you need to leave the "L0" box in the "Structure" tab checked.

- First, click on the " Dummy Helper  " :

- At the very bottom of the hierarchy Dummy Helper appears, rename it with the name of your choice that corresponds to your vehicle. For my part, I've decided to call it " gs350  " :

- Drag and drop the compound chassis  " in this dummy:

- Now you can drag and drop all the other components of your vehicle. EXCEPT the wheel we'll deal with later in the compound". chassis  " :

 - Drag and drop the sub-elements into their respective compounds: the right front window in the right front door, the left front window in the left front door, the rear windscreen in the trunk if it is to be part of the trunk, the rear-view mirror indicators in the doors, the lights on the bumpers in the bumpers... etc... :

In my case, I place the various windows in each door, along with the indicators and blinker glass. Then, as for the trunk, I have part of the back-up lights and taillights on it, along with the protective glass, so I put everything inside.

DO NOT HAVE INVISIBLE LIGHTS UNDER THE WINDOWS:

As mentioned in the texturing section, your lights may be invisible under their protective glass during in-game testing, or even on Zmodeler 3 or OpenIV. This is where you carry out the second part of the operation to avoid this problem. As with the organization in the material browser, the panes must be IMPERATIVELY be BELOW lights in the hierarchy. On the above example in the trunk (boot) you can see the four lights and a compound. misc_f " This compound is none other than the protective glass for the lights, and is located well below the lights. The same applies to all the vehicle's other lights, and be sure to place the speedometer's protective glass at the bottom of the hierarchy, otherwise you'll miss it. If there are several layers of glass, always place the outer one at the bottom of the list and the following ones on top.

Your hierarchy is now complete and in the right order for the vehicle to be usable in-game!
