Edit light and front windows to make them un-detachable

Introduction

This part of the tutorial is used to correct the tinting problem for elements you don't want tinted.

Elements that should not be tinted include front windows, headlight and taillight glass, lights that never come on, and the speedometer glass.

If you forget to do these steps on an element and realize it in game, you can come back to it later.

This part of the tutorial is available as a video, which is much simpler than the written word. Everything is explained

If you are modding or simply playing with modded vehicles on GTA 5 you have MANDATORY already experienced the problem of window tinting! When you tint your windows via a trainer or by going to Los Santos Custom with your vehicle to modify the tint, it's not just the side and rear windows that get tinted. In fact, you'll end up with the lights inactive (I'll come back to it later), the windows of the lights, the glass in front of the speedometer, and other all-black elements!

So what goes black when we tint our windows? Simply all the parts of your vehicle that have a shader (in Zmodeler 3's material browser) defines on : vehicle_lights, vehicles_vehglass and vehicle_vehglass_inner.

When I say inactive lights, I mean, for example, a blinker that you've decided not to turn on, i.e. you haven't put it on. vehicle_lightsemissive but have chosen vehicle_lights instead, in which case it will turn black when you tint the vehicle's windows.

So, to correct this little problem, all we have to do is apply a color to a color channel in vertex selection mode AFTER check that all checkboxes are ticked in the properties as shown in the video. Once this is done, deselect everything and return to object selection mode. Of course, you can also paint all the materials at once, as I recommend.

Don't forget, the front windscreen and front door windows can't be tinted! So take them with the lights and paint them too.

EDIT: Paint the windows gray, NOT black as in the video. This will allow you to tint your in-game windows at different levels, not just full black. Otherwise, the steps are identical.

Now you won't have any problems with your headlights, windscreen or speedometer turning black!
