Here's the quickest and easiest way to create the perfect template for all your GTA V vehicles!
I've already done a tutorial on the subject, but this method is much simpler than the previous one, and offers more possibilities and functions not presented in the first video.
So, first of all, what's a template for? Simply to make a vehicle compatible with custom skins. To put it simply, the template will "unfold" the vehicle to place it on a 2D plane, on which you'll find the right and left sides, the top and the front and rear. You can add other extras on the same texture, such as a spoiler, mirrors, etc. (see the example of the mirrors in the video).
Once each part has been developed, we'll organize it neatly and intelligently on our plan, staying within the limits of the texture. I suggest you follow the organization example shown in the video.
Once you've done all this, all you need to do is render your 2D plan. It's imperative that you save your work, otherwise you risk losing everything during rendering: I advise you to render in 4096 x 4096 pixels, but it's possible, either because of a bug or because your PC isn't powerful enough, that the error message "Insufficient memory" appears, in which case the software crashes. If the same error occurs the second time, reduce the rendering size to 2048 x 2048 pixels.
Import your template into Photoshop or other editing software and create your skin (if you've rendered in 2048 x 2048 pixels, in Photoshop change the size to enlarge the template to 4096 x 4096 pixels).
Then import your template into your vehicle's .YTD file OR into Zmodeler3 to render your work.
If your template contains transparent areas (if, for example, you've only added a logo to the vehicle), these areas will simply be the car's paintwork, which you can change.
