Using the OFFICIAL YouTube app with the screen off

In some applications, you are forced to leave your screen on when it is not necessarily necessary, this is particularly the case with the application YouTube. If you turn off your smartphone, the video pauses. So when you want to use the YouTube app to listen to music, you are obliged to leave your screen on to enjoy your music, even if you're not looking at it. This therefore consumes a lot of battery for not much in the end, since what interests us is the audio, not the video.

That's why I found you a little application that is very little known and allows you to avoid this problem of unnecessary battery consumption! Its name, BSOLfor Black Screen Of Life. How does it work? Well, as soon as it is activated in the background, it allows you to turn off your screen without cutting the audio, note that this application just turns off the screen, it does not lock it. To trigger the lock, simply hide the proximity sensor located at the top of your smartphone or tablet. Basically, when you play music on YouTube, you just have to place your smartphone upside down on a flat surface, cover it with an object, or simply put it in your pocket. The screen will then be off, and the music will continue to play! This is a great way tosave your battery !

In addition, some options are customizable in the application. It is possible, as in the example in the video, to add a small timer before the screen turns off instead of turning it off instantly. You can also play a sound and/or vibrate your device when the screen turns off, or add a small 2-second delay before. Two notification settings are then available. You can display the notification when BSOL is activated in the background or when it is not. In both cases, by clicking on the notification you have chosen to display, it will be possible to activate or deactivate BSOL. Useful to avoid leaving the YouTube application and launch it from its application list. Finally, it is possible to activate the automatic launch option. The latter allows BSOL to start when you turn on your phone or tablet.
