It is possible to blur one or more elements at a time whether they are fixed or moving or whether some are fixed and others are moving!<\/p>\n

The tutorial takes place on Sony Vegas PRO 13 but the method remains the same on all other versions of the software.<\/p>\n

It is very important to follow the entire tutorial in order to fully understand how unsharp masks work. Disabling resampling is imperative to avoid bad images (double images at certain times or superimposed images) and to be able to work in the best possible conditions. The preview plays a huge role, set it to the same setting as in the video to be sure to have no lag with the unsharp masks.<\/p>\n

Be sure to monitor the keyframes and do not forget to add some. You must add a keyframe for example in this case: an element is fixed for 1 second (30 frames) then starts moving for a second. It stops again for a second and starts again. Before the first start your mask is still, we want to make it move from the 31st frame, so we create a keyframe at frame 30 by clicking on the small "+" (zoom in well to check that the key appears). At the end of the movement a keyframe is automatically created, then before the second start after the fixed period you must recreate one manually (at frame 89).<\/p>\n

Set the blur intensity to a maximum value of 0.020! Otherwise the blur amount will be too high and your mask will show through, blurring will be useless. The intensity must sometimes be modified depending on the size of the mask frame.<\/p>\n
